Hats off to those people who actually SMS in to voice out. I simply talked to myself and the speakers in the TV haha- no money! Okay even if I have the money, I wouldn’t wana spend $0.50 on each SMS!

Love this show. Looking forward to the next episode! Bad thing is, it’s on every Sunday 10.30pm! Am starting work soon and I need at least 10 hours of sleep not the usual 8 hours cox I think I use a minimum of 2 hours to dream every night).

I share a room with my cousin. She likes to listen to songs and watch videos without her earpiece. I don’t understand why is it so hard to pluck in the earpiece. It not only allows you to have better music, it also prevents you from disturbing people. She was listening to SHINEE. But hello? I have never liked SHINEE. If  you give sanctions to people who on loud speaker on buses or trains to talk or listen to songs, or have their earpiece/headphone on but music is still so freaking loud as though it’s on loud speaker, shouldn’t you have some etiquette yourself?

Am not anal bout everything. But if there are ways to make it a better place/environment, and it’s just a freaking earpiece. Why not just do it? I have told her to wear earpiece a few times, gave attitude a few times whenever the music is on. Yes, the music is not loud. But it’s replaying and it’s not the band or song I like, why do you want me to hear it? The last time I gave attitude was by saying, “doesn’t mean you wana watch this movie means I also wana watch hor.”

I decided to let actions talk. So, just now, I also on my songs to bout the same volume as my cousin’s. I was hoping that she sensed something and find it irritating. Am not sure if she got it and hence the music stopped or she’s finished watching her MTVs.

When she sleeps, my tv volume is like almost nothing. Sometimes I just off it. When I talk to Chris and if she’s sleeping, I speak so softly until Chris couldn’t really hear. You may ask, why do I still leave tv or talk on the phone when my cousin is sleeping. The answer is- she’s not a light sleeper. So as long as it’s soft, she can sleep as per normal. If she’s as light as my Mummy, I swear to you I would not make any sound. Oh ya, I just bought a cordless phone. I can even talk elsewhere.

Okay so the new maid has been under the guidance of the “old” maid (who is bout to go back home for good). The two maids bunk in in a room. Christmas Eve was the second day of work for the new maid. By right, she should have a lot to learn and do on how and what to do for this kinda family gathering. But she kept hiding behind my aunty’s kitchen. When asked her why, she said she had a headache. Oh just a note, communicating with her is the same as talking to my cousin who is bout 2 years old. Her command of English is ^%&^$^%$$^%%$#%$%&!!!!! Her command of Malay is also ^^$^%&^&^**^%*&^!!! My ah ma can’t even talk normally to her, she gives up sometimes and shakes head.

Two days ago, the new maid almost set the house on fire and exploded the kitchen. yes, I exaggerated, but it could really happen if no one was with her. She steamed the fruits meant for the baby without putting any water in the steamer. And don’t know how she meddled with the gas stove (heard from my ah ma,) which also made my aunty pissed off.

Yesterday was the best drama. She went down to buy bread at 5 minutes before 8pm. By 8.20pm, she was not back yet. The “old” maid limped her way (if it’s not cox her feet are too problematic and add additional cost to us from each hospital visit and medicine, we would really love to keep her. She’s good.) down to the market vicinity to search for her. My male cousin went down too. In a split second, ah ma disappeared with them too. I was the guard dog for the house. After about 8.45pm, the “old” maid and ah ma came up, without the new maid. I phoned my cousin to ask him up too.

The clock ticked to 9pm, still no signs of the new maid. Soon after, my female cousin called and said she saw the new maid sitting at the ground floor staircase and she’s together with her. Apparently, the new maid had an headache. When she’s back, no one interrogated her. We just let her make her way back to her room. Got to know the story from the “old” maid. It goes:

The new maid did not walk to the bread shop. She walked to my aunty’s house direction instead, which is bout…900m from our block. Then she had an headache and decided to walk back to our block and just sat at the staircase instead of taking the lift up back to the house.

We all thought that the new maid is kinda “dangerous”, or maybe dangerous. Why would a normal person act like that? This is her first attachment in Singapore, why would a serious worker try such things? Read too much newspapers, my aunty and I decided to keep all weapons and keys in the house. I mean, we wouldn’t know what was in her head and she might decide to do something to harm us eh? I slept in the living last night. I can’t deny that I was little scared and started to plan what I would do if she really attacked my ah ma. I would whack her like a volleyball, and all the way out of the court. When I went to the toilet, I jumped after hearing a sound from the maid’s room. When I was trying to sleep, I kept thinking if she’s behind me omgggg. And…she’s not skinny eh!

Last night was her last with us. She should be at the agency now.

My aunty asked I could get Chris to stay over last night, at least there’s a man. I told her fat hope. Nonetheless, I still tried asking. Serve me right. The reality slapped me hard but definitely not off guard. I acknowledged it lightheartedly, I had to.

Me: Myrchelle asks if you could stay over for tonight as the maid is bit out of her mind and it’s better to have a man in the house. Am sleeping in the living with ah ma.
Chris: WHAT? STAY? Cannot la…I got work. Put a knife beside you and sleep. If anything happens, call the police.
Me: Okay yeap, I already told her. I was just asking haha. Okay you go and work, bye (everything in a forced chirpy tone)!
Chris: Okay okay, bye. Bye. Take care!
Me: Yeap! Bye (still chirpy!)!

This conversation happened at bout 1am. I think he got an extra $100 bucks for choosing to work last night. Yeap it’s a choice. Am that cheap. I know, girls always compare like that. Or maybe it’s just me. But I, or rather, we needed you. Okay okay, I also told Myrchelle that I can’t answer to Chris’s parents should anything happens! It’s true. I bet if I told Chris this, he would say, “Haha eh YA LOR haha hahahaha! What’s going to happen man? Hah!”

The day when Chris decides that he should learn how to protect me is the day when my Mummy comes back to life.

What made the night more sad? I watched Love Actually online (again!). “Love is actually all around.” BULLSHIT.

What made me started this post?

My cousin’s friends are here. I think there are 5 of them, but not everyone is going to overnight here. They are here cox my cousin was not allowed to go over to his friend’s house for an overnight. So, the plan changed. Initially, they were supposed to overnight and play PS3 in my cousin’s room. But I think it’s troublesome to setup the PS3 in the room, they decided to play in the living instead, that’s my ah ma’s preferred room for decades. My cousin told my ah ma to sleep in his room for tonight. Th friends reached at 8.19pm, and they started playing soon after. My ah ma just sat at the arm chair and watched them play PS3. Two friends sat on her sofa bed, with their legs and feet on it.

I asked my ah ma a few times if she wanted to come into my room to watch tv. The third time I asked, she told me, “Don’t worry, I will come in if I really wana watch. I can just sleep for now.” It was not even 8.30pm. It was still her tv time. My ah ma does not have much things to do at home. All she does is to either watch tv or nap.

After bout an hour later, my cousin and his friends went out, to have supper I think. I went to my cousin’s room to check on my ah ma. When I thought it was just myself feeling upset/ overreacting/ making a big fuss, I saw the maid in the living. I think she also wanted to check on ah ma. The look on her face, I could see that we shared the same emotions. We exchanged 2 sentences, and it’s confirmed. Everything was not one-sided.

To my cousin:

If you happen to read this post, please don’t be angry with me. It’s my blog, I have my rights to voice out. But please know and understand that ah ma loves you so much. I can’t tell you time and time on when to stop playing PS3 so that ah ma could watch tv or nap, or what to do or not to do to make things better or convenient for her. You are a good boy and old enough, try to observe the surrounding and be sensitive to ah ma’s needs and wants.

Am not your sister, am merely your cousin. So, if I don’t feel tooooo heart pain for ah ma, I won’t even suggest anything that you should do. I don’t feel good to give you reminders too. You are her precious. I know you love her too.

I can’t express the pain I feel in my heart.

When I was in the ambulance with her, she told me to wear the jacket which I brought along for her. The moment when she was pushed out from the operating theater, she asked if we were cold and reminded us to put on jacket. Before we left, she told us to keep laundry indoor as the weather is very bad and to cook noodles for ourselves when we reach home.

Please, have some mercy.
